Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers a warm atmosphere but lacks AC in the rooms. The cleanliness is acceptable despite visible damages and paint issues. The service was offhand and somewhat arrogant, making our experience a bit uncomfortable. The location, however, is the best you can find in Oostende with a prime spot near the sea. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with good food but overpriced items added to the bill without consent.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on top of the beach with immediate access and a short walk into town. The rooms were not clean and regularly got hot when the weather was warm, but they were very clean and comfortable. Although the dining pressure to book an expensive breakfast was a downside, the service, especially housekeeping and room service, was hardworking. The facility offers secure parking and sitting areas, making it a nice, quiet option just out of the town center.
The hotel rooms were nice and spacious with plenty of light; however, wind and rain coming through the window soaked the carpet, making it less relaxing. The service was efficient and friendly overall, but some staff members were off-hand and even arrogant at times. The location was convenient for summer stays near the beach, although facing the car park and cigarette-filled alcove was not ideal. The dining experience had a good variety, including gluten-free options, but the price per person was a bit steep. The facilities were decent, but some improvements could be made.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, despite some equipment damage and paint issues, were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, though the view from my room onto a garbage container for the price was disappointing. The service was a highlight with very professional and helpful staff, but the pressure to book breakfast for an extra cost was off-putting. The location was splendid right by the beach, offering a fantastic view, but the dining experience, while good with a decent variety, could use improvement. Overall, a stay with ups and downs.
My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The rooms, despite appearing old, were surprisingly clean, large, light, and comfy. However, they could have used better aeration. The service seemed a bit grumpy at times, with staff more focused on tasks than guest requests, but they did offer to check the room temperature. The location was unbeatable, right on the beach, providing immediate access to the seafront restaurants. The dining experience, although offering a variety of choices, had its drawbacks with unexpected charges and dark bathrooms. The facilities were adequate but could use some improvements.
The hotel offers large rooms, albeit with outdated fixtures resembling a university dorm from the 1970s. The beds are comfortable and the rooms feel clean and spacious. The service is mixed, with some inexperienced staff and occasional lapses in attention, but standout individuals like Monsieur Simon brighten the experience. The location is convenient, albeit in need of renovation, and the dining options vary in quality. The facilities meet basic expectations, but some areas require maintenance or improvement.
